This quote, which appeared in so many websites, didn't acknowledge Carpiso and most didn't didn't even say "Unknown". One acknowledged Demi Lovato, but I couldn't find anything which Lovato had said along this line - other than "I'm not perfect" in the Wikipaedia Demi Lovato: Stay Strong page, Synopsis paragraph.
Carpiso had a page at Inspirably where she had started her quote pics with "Unknown", but, unfortunately, just a little later she had added her own name and a date. That date, I believe, was only when she did her pics. She did not ever say any of the quotes she posted, but she didn't mention the real speaker.
There were many websites who ignored the speaker or "Unknown".

Some websites credited this to "Unknown", which is exactly what every site should do!
- Odyssey Online - noted in the 2015 list as number 1, credited to "Unknown"
- Emily's Quotes - noted "Unknown" on the words below the picture but unfortunately didn't include them in the picture
- From the Desk of Mardrag - listed a longer quote which was credited to "Unknown"
Every quote - regardless of whether it said "Unknown" - started with either "We were..." or "You were...", but they all posted the same remainder of words.
I haven't - so far - found the original quote, but I believe that too many pics on the internet have repeated the words so maybe it might have happened once. In the meantime...
My conclusion: The quote is "You were...", neither Demi Lovato or Hannah Jane S Carpiso said it originally, and "Unknown" must be included on every picture. Note to Carpiso - if you want to post a pic for an "Unknown" quote, do so with "Unknown" before your own name.
